ここ数年、ビジネスでもプライベートな場面でも必要とされている「聞く力」。
テレビ界を牛耳っているビッグ3（タモリさん、ビートたけしさん、明石家さんまさん）はもちろん冠番組を持つタレントにとって、必要不可欠な力です。
なかでもダウンタウンの「聞く技術」が注目されており、『ダウンタウンなう』でゲストの話を引き出せるのは、2人の卓越した「聞く技術」があるからだといいます。
聞く技術＝しゃべらないこと
『ダウンタウンなう』での姿を見て、「あれっ？」と思った人は多いのではないでしょうか。2人は話を聞いてばかりで、あまりしゃべっていないのです。しかし、しゃべっていなくても、存在感の大きさは精力的にコントをこなしていたころと変わっていません。その理由は、聞き手としての卓越したスキルにあるとみています。

２位：口ばっかりで、行動を起こさない
３位：理不尽なことで叱る
４位：こちらの話を聞かない、自分勝手
５位：嘘をつく
部下が嫌いなのは言葉が関係することがほとんどですね。
「4位こちらの話を聞かない、自分勝手」これは上司のスキルが低いということ。
ダウンタウンに見習うと、存在感の大きさはそのまま出しつつ相手が話しやすい空気を作ることが大事。
浜田さんは、「それってどういうこと？」と短い言葉で単刀直入に聞くスタイル。そのため、話し相手はあまり考えずに答えやすく、自然体で話すことができます。一方、松本さんは、「それってこういうこと？」と相手の言葉を補い、予測しながら聞くスタイル。2人の番組には芸人のようなトーク巧者でない出演者も多く、説明不足だったり、話が分かりにくかったりすることも多いのですが、さりげなくフォローしているのです。
存在感を生かしたテクニック
1つ目は、相手の話に対するリアクション。2人は話の流れを止めずに受け止めるため、“あ行”を中心にしたリアクションを取っています。声として発しているのは「あっ！」「いやいや」「うわっ～」「えっ？」「お～」だけですが、大物司会者はこれくらいシンプルな方が、ゲスト出演者は気をつかわずに話し続けられるものです。
2つ目は、どこか他人事のような、ひとり言のような聞き方をしていること。「〇〇なんじゃないの？」「〇〇ってどういうことなん？」などと聞いた上で、その返事に「そうなんだ」「へえ～」と返すなど、向き合い過ぎないことで深刻な話をしやすいムードを作っています。実際、中島知子さんは洗脳騒動、加護亜依さんは喫煙騒動についてスラスラ話していました。
3つ目は、それとなく教えながらフォローしていること。2人は相手の話を補足するように、「そう言えば○○らしいよ」「何かで見たけど、○○みたいだね」とそれとなく伝えてフォローしています。後輩タレントに、自分の知識を誇るように教えるのではなく、相手の話を助け盛り上げるためのトークを挟んでいるだけなのです。
4つ目は、立ち位置の微調整。2人には相手の話に「分かるわ」「そりゃそうだよな」などと共感の言葉を返し、素の表情をサラッと見せるなど、同じ目線で聞こうとしています。「大物」ではなく、「親」「中年」「いちタレント」「一人の男」など、相手に合わせるように立ち位置を変えているのでしょう。特に清原和博さんや板東英二さんの話を聞いていたときは、戦友のような雰囲気を醸し出していました。
「聞く」というのは簡単なようで難しい。
