世界一美しい「奇跡の木」。40種類のフルーツが実る魔法の木は世界を救う？！
皆さんは信じられるだろうか？
まずは、この画像を見て欲しい。
鮮やかに彩られた樹木だが、よく見ると所々違った色が混じっているのがお分かりいただけるだろうか？
その数なんと４０種類！！
４０種類の色の正体
一本の木に４０種類の色が混じり、鮮やかさを演出しているだけでも驚きなのだが、実はこの色の正体は、４０種類のフルーツの色なのである。
そう、一本の木に４０種類のフルーツが実る木なのだ。
その内容は、アーモンド、アプリコット、チェリー、桃、プラムなどなど・・・まるで魔法の木である。
魔法の木は、こうして出来た
開発者はアメリカ・シラキュース大学の美術教員であるVan Akenさん。
Vanさんは、果物の花が咲く時期をすべて記録し、緻密な計算のもと切開した樹の枝に、他の種の枝をテープで繋ぎ合わせて固定した。
基盤になる「ワーキングツリー」の育成に2年、その後別種の木の枝を、自分の枝だと認識させるまでに3年をかけ、魔法の木は見事に完成した。
魔法の木は世界を救う？！
この技法を改良し、その地域に適した品種で栽培すれば、様々な貧しい地域の人達は救われ、農家の方たちにとっても救いの木になることだろう。
Vanさん自身も、 この夢のようなフルーツ・ツリーを育てる技術を、多くの農家の人たちへ広めたいと意気込みを見せている。
奇跡の木が、各家庭に１本植わっている日は、近い？？
