都内の隠れ家的イタリアンレストラン。10月20日の午後、そこに一組の仲むつまじい夫婦の姿があった。女優・山口智子（51）と夫の俳優・唐沢寿明（52）だ。この日は、山口の51回目のバースデーだった。

このお二人、ホントにおしどり夫婦ですね。

3分に1度見つめ合う

カウンター席に、ピタッと仲よく寄り添っていました。楽しげに話し合いながら、仲良くお食事されていました」（来店していた女性客）

ふだんは夫と気軽にワインを飲みに来る、なじみの店というが、この日はバースデー。好物のチーズに、ちょっぴり特別な白レバーやトリッパが添えられていた。そこでの様子は、新婚当初を思わせるような“おしどり夫婦”そのものだったと語るのは前出の女性客。

「ほとんど3分に1回は左隣に座っている旦那さんと見つめ合って、ニッコリした顔を見せていました」

「ウチはケンカしない。ケンカにならないというか、唐沢さんは人の話を聞いてないから…」とぼやく山口。それに対し、国分太一が「腹は立たないですか？」と問うと、「彼（唐沢）は言ってもしょうがない。そういう感じですよ」

仕事とオフの切り替えについても「家に帰って唐沢さんと遊んでいるときが自分にとってのオフかもしれない。なかなか一緒にいる時間がないから、会うときはできるだけくっついていようと思うんです。本当にずっとくっついていたくて、抱っこ抱っこ～みたいな」

山口は「抱っこ抱っこ～♥」と甘えるも、唐沢はじーっとして動かないのだとか。山口曰く「彼はくっつかれるのが嫌みたい。抱きつかれても対応したくないんでしょうね」

トーク番組に出演した際、「部屋の家具は智ちゃんが選ぶ」「会話は大事だから毎日、智ちゃんとしてる」と語るなど、テレビでも山口を“智ちゃん”と呼ぶ唐沢

TOKIO・松岡昌弘は、唐沢寿明と食事をしていた際に酔った唐沢が突然「あー！山口に会いてぇ！」とつぶやいた事を暴露。このような場では「山口」と呼ぶんだそう

交際発覚のきっかけ

1992年、 ガムテープと手錠とカメラを持った二人組の男が宅配業者を装って山口の自宅マンションに侵入。この時、唐沢は山口の部屋におり、悲鳴を聞いた唐沢は犯人の足を蹴り倒し撃退した。この事件で二人の交際が発覚。事件そのものの衝撃と週刊誌などのマスコミに追われたことで神経がくたくただったが、山口が受けたショックを 思うと参ってはいられなかったと著書で振り返っている。

幾度となく仮面夫婦のウワサが流れていた二人。
山口智子は役柄、強い女性のイメージをもたれやすいが本人はとてもナイーブ。

「2人とも夫婦関係を何より一番に考えているのです。人望の厚い唐沢さんは、役者仲間からも遊びの誘いが多い。しかし決して浮気をせず、妻一筋で奥さんを誰よりも大切にしてきました。山口さんも、そんな旦那さんに“いってらっしゃい”と送り出すような信頼をおいています」

20周年を迎えた2人の間には、新婚変わらずの愛であふれていた。
